Lafayette Crossings could be latest effort in makeover of South Boulder Road corridor

LAFAYETTE -- The final piece in the puzzle known as the extreme makeover of South Boulder Road could be falling into place, as redevelopment plans take shape at the bowling alley-anchored Coal Creek Sports Center at the corner of one of Lafayette's busiest intersections.

Last month, the city approved an economic development agreement with Armstrong Capital Development that will rebate the Centennial-based developer 50 percent of sales tax revenues generated by the project for a period of 10 years and will waive certain building permit fees. If Armstrong's final plans meet with the city's approval, shovels could be turning dirt on four new retail buildings at the 7-acre site by the beginning of the year.
